As of January 2009, please could you tell me:

1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which
the council has access to waiting list data?

2) In total, how many plots are on these sites ?

3) In total, how many people are on these waiting lists for an
allotment?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

Further to your request under the Freedom of Information Act I am now able to
respond to you as follows:

South Hams District Council does not hold this information about allotments.
These are more usually managed by town and parish councils. If your request
relates to a specific area then I would recommend that you contact the
appropriate local town or parish council for information. A list of these
councils can be found on our website at www.southhams.gov.uk Your Council,
Councillors, Who's who, Parish Clarks

The Council does have six garden plot licences. These are on an annual basis
and can be terminated at any time to enable the Council to deal with the land
in any way it wishes.

If you are dissatisfied with this decision you may complain to the Council,
either to me or through the Council's complaints procedure which is available
on our website www.southhams.gov.uk; or you can contact the office of the
Information Commissioner at this postal address:
