Dear Enviro,

On the 30th January I submitted a request to Gloucester County
Council for information on allotments. The reply was that my
request had been passed on to Gloucester City Council, with no
explanation of why.

I would be very grateful for a short explanation. Is it because the
County Council holds no information on allotments?

Yours sincerely,

Margaret Campbell

Dear Ms Campbell

Thank you for your email, received in the Contact Centre at Gloucester
City Council. Your original email was passed to us to deal as we are
responsible for allocating allotments in Gloucester City. This is a local
authority function (so each of the other local authorities in
Gloucestershire - Tewkesbury Borough Council, Stroud District Council,
Forest of Dean District Council etc are responsible themselves for
allotments).

I hope this is helpful. If we can provide any further information, please
do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely

The council has access to waiting list data on all 10 City Council

There are a total of 621 marked out allotments on the above sites.

allotment?

As of the 18^th February 2009 there were 375 people on the City Council's

No they are all still open
5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

The council has 10 allotment sites in the city (this includes both
Tredworth Fields and the Hawthorns which are now being treated as one
