1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which
the council has access to waiting list data?

2) How many plots are on these sites in total?

3) In total, how many people are on these waiting lists for an
allotment?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

Request for information under section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000

Thank you for your request for information regarding allotments in our area. Your request was received on 23-DEC-2008 and my investigations have now been concluded. Your questions and our answers are as follows: -

1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which
the council has access to waiting list data? 10

2) How many plots are on these sites in total? 110

3) In total, how many people are on these waiting lists for an
allotment? 35

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications? No

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area? Information not held as a number of the town councils have their own allotments

Under the Freedom of Information Act if you are not happy with the information the Council has released you do have a right of appeal. To do this you would need to contact the Council's Corporate complaints section by email at [email address]

If you are still dissatisfied once the Council's internal complaints procedure has been exhausted you can then complain to the Information commissioner who is an independent body set up to make sure organisations fulfil their legal responsibilities under the Act.
