Dear Sir or Madam,
As of December 2008, please could you tell me:
1) How many allotment sites are there in the Borough for which the
council has access to waiting list data?
2) How many plots are on these sites?
3) How many people are on these waiting lists for an allotment?
4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
5) How many sites are there in total in the Borough?
Yours faithfully,
Margaret Campbell

Thank you for contacting St.Helens Council. Your email has been given the

Dear Margaret
I apologise for the delay in replying to your enquiry, I've been on leave
over the Christmas break.
I have attached a document with the information you require. We only have
access to the waiting lists for council managed sites, including garden
tenanted sites. We do not close waiting lists, as we feel it is important
to know the demand. However, some people are on more than one waiting list
in order to increase their chances of getting a plot, which exaggerates the
waiting list numbers.
There will be private sites in the borough which I have not included as I
do not have sufficient information.
I trust you will find the information useful.
