High Peak Borough Council

FAO Margaret Campbell

Please find outlined below, this Council's response to your recent Freedom
of Information Act request relating to allotment sites.

1. The Council manages two sites directly for which it has access to
waiting list data, Jordan Street, Glossop and Cunningdale, Buxton. The
Council owns another 3 sites which are managed by Town Councils, 1 at
Whaley Bridge and 2 at Tintwistle, and there are 4 self help allotments on
land either owned or leased to the Council which are all in Buxton.

2. The total number of plots is about 300.

3. The combined waiting lists for the two directly managed sites is 124.

4. None of the waiting lists are closed to further applications.

5. Information relating to the total number of sites in the Council area
is not held as there are several Parish and Town Council sites, as well as
private sites. An Open Space Strategy is due for publication in the
Spring and should contain this information.

If you are dissatisfied with the way in which your request for information
has been dealt with you should write to Simon Baker, Chief Executive, High
Peak Borough Council, Council Offices, Hayfield Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith,
High Peak SK23 0QJ who will deal with the matter through the internal
appeals process we have established. If you are unhappy with the outcome
of these further investigations, you can then write to the Information
Commissioner at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Yours faithfully
