As of December 2008, please could you tell me:

1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which
the council has access to waiting list data?

2) How many plots are on these sites in total?

3) In total, how many people are on these waiting lists for an
allotment?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re:Overdue FOI request

On 23 December 2008 I sent the following request for information:

"As of December 2008, please could you tell me:

1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which
the council has access to waiting list data?

2) How many plots are on these sites in total?

3) In total, how many people are on these waiting lists for an
allotment?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?"

By law, the response had to be prompt but no later than 26 January
2009. Under the Freedom of Information Act you should have replied
by now, and are breaking the law.

I would be grateful for an early response to this.

Information as requested.

1 There are 28 sites in Chesterfield. The Council does not have access to
waiting list data as each site is managed by an association which has
information on waiting list's, numbers of plots and vacancies. A contact
list for you is provided below.

Allotment List

Although Chesterfield Borough Council own a number of allotment sites in
the borough the day to day management of them is left to each individual
allotment association. The association consists of Trustee's and allotment
gardeners that together elect a secretary, agree rents and let plots.
Please contact the following secretaries for more information and precise
location of sites.

Due to increased demand for allotments many associations are now operating
a waiting list.
