Allotment waiting list data

Dear Ms Campbell

I have asked my colleague the Allotments Officer to look into your request and he has given me the following information:

1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which
the council has access to waiting list data?

Green Spaces & Amenities we operate and control 11 sites in the borough

2) How many plots are on these sites in total?

There are 309 plots on these sites

3) In total, how many people are on these waiting lists for an
allotment?

There are 551 individuals on our waiting lists - this is an amalgamation of the individual lists for each site

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

No - but potential applicants are warned of the length of the list and the possible length of time it will be before an allotment may become available for them.

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

This is information that we do not have - we are aware that there are private sites, along with Parish Council sites, but we have no details of these.

There are also what is called "Planning Back Garden Plots" but as these are let to the house in front of them they are not considered to be general allotments and therefore there is not waiting list.
