Dear Sirs,

I am writing in response to your request for information under the terms
of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Ref No FOI/11/327.

1.     Please could you send us the Tenancy Agreement that the Council
currently uses for allotment plots in the Council? – Please see attached
document.

2.     Please could you send us the previous Tenancy Agreement for allotment
plots in the Council? The previous Tenancy Agreement is the same as the attached
minus the appendix (Code of Practice for the keeping of chickens and rabbits).
This was added in June 2009.

3.     Was the agreement changed following a public consultation?
Consultation was carried out with Chorley Allotment Society and Chorley
Council Executive Cabinet

4.     Please could you send us the documentation associated with this
consultation that highlights the change in Tenancy Agreement for allotment
plots in the Council? Under Section 1 (1) of the Freedom of Information
Act 2000, Chorley Council has a duty to confirm whether it holds the
information requested.  Chorley Council do not hold such documentation.

5.     Is the Council planning to chance the current Tenancy Agreement for
allotment plots in the Council within the next 12 months? No

6.     Can you please send us the cost of an allotment within your Council
for the years: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and what they will be for 2012 and
2013.

2008/09 £38.00, 2009/10 £39.15, 2010/11 £40.00, 2011/12 £40.00

2012/13 – cost to be determined (increase by inflation and adding in water
charges for plots where this is supplied.)

7.     Can you please send us the cost of using water as charged to
individual plot holders within your Council for the years: 2008, 2009,
2010, 2011 and what they will be for 2012 and 2013.

No charge for years 2008 – 2011.  Possible introduction of water charges
from 2012 of approximately £7 - £10 per plot dependant on previous years
water charges.  This charge is only to sites where water is provided and
charges will fluctuate dependant on usage.

8.     Can you please send us the rate of the discount available for
renting an allotment plot within your Council for the years: 2008, 2009,
2010, 2011 and what they will be for 2012 and 2013.

Discount is 50% for OAPs and unemployed of the full fee is outlined in
question 6.   Discounted rates are to be stopped and everyone charged the
same fee from 2012 onwards, subject to consultation.

9.     What has the cost of waste removal been to the Council in relation
to allotment sites for the years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and what are they
likely be for 2012 and 2013?

Exact costs of waste removal are unknown but the allotment income is used
to maintain the allotments over the 12 month period.  2 skip days are
provided per year to each allotment site.  This procedure is currently
under review for 2011/12.

I hope the information provided here answers your enquiry.  If however,
you are unhappy with the outcome, or the way in which Chorley Council has
handled your request, you may wish to make an appeal.  This can be done in
writing to the Information Manager, Chorley Council, Civic Offices, Union
Street, Chorley, PR7 1AL, or by e-mail to: [1][email address].uk  clearly
