Dear Sir or Madam,

Can you provide me with the price lists for the products in each of
the commons outlets. For each outlet, the quantity of each item
sold each day for the most recent 12 month period that you have
records of, also the margin of profit/loss included in the price of
each item.

Also can you explain the process by which the level of subsidy on
each product is decided.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr Perrin

I have been asked to seek clarification on the nature of your request,
shown below.

I have been asked if you could be more specific about the range of
information you require; for example, if it should include counter lines
(crisps, sandwiches, fruit pots etc) or just menu dishes. In the event of
wanting information on every item produced or sold throughout all outlets
over the last 12 months, I have been advised that this would take
substantial staff resources and may not be achievable within the deadline.

I would be grateful if you could contact me as soon as possible on this
matter.

Kind regards

Dear BREVITT, Brenda,

I would be delighted to modify my request to make the task as
simple for your technical people as possible.

I you would care to explain what problem they are experiencing with
providing the information that I requested I will modify my request
accordingly.

Maybe it would be simpler if they just provided me with the entire
database (a simple file transfer) so I could then process the data
myself?

Yours sincerely,

Paul Perrin

Dear Mr Perrin,

Thank you for your emails dated 25 June 2009 and 28 July 2009.

You asked for price lists for products in each Commons outlet and the
quantity of each item sold for the most recent 12 month period for which
records are held. Price lists for items sold in House of Commons
outlets are attached. However, providing the number of items sold each
day for the last twelve months would require a search of several
databases and formats. The work required to provide this information
would exceed the appropriate limit as described in section 12 of the Act
and associated Fees Regulations which would remove the obligation to
undertake the work and provide the information. Nor would it be possible
to provide entire databases, as suggested in your email of 28th July, as
they contain a variety of information some of which is commercially
sensitive. However, we could look at your request again should you wish
to reduce its scope to a limited number of items from the attached price
lists.

You also sought the margin of profit/loss included in the price of each
item and the process by which the level of subsidy on each product is
decided. The House does not have information on the margin of profit or
loss of each product, nor does the House decide on the level of subsidy
by product.

You may, if dissatisfied with the treatment of your request, ask the
House of Commons to conduct an internal review of this decision.
Requests for internal review should be addressed to: Freedom of
Information Officer, Department of Resources, House of Commons London
SW1 OAA or [House of Commons request email]. Please ensure that you specify the
nature of your complaint and any arguments or points that you wish to
make.

If you remain dissatisfied, you may appeal to the Information
Commissioner at Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Yours sincerely
