Dear Mr Evans
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: RFI 2811/1
I write in connection with your request for information which was received
on 6th December 2010 and which you clarified ( please see italics)on 9^th
December 2010 Please find below the response to your request.
1. I would like to know, using the freedom of information act, how many
people were arrested in Worcester City Centre, for both drunk and
disorderly and drunk in a public place throughout the Christmas week
(24th-31st December) for the following years:
Reply:
2006 - 10
2007 - 4
2008 - 5
2009 - 4
2. Furthermore, I would like to know how many of these were successfully
prosecuted, if that is at all possible.
Reply: Please be advised that persons arrested for an offence may not be
subsequently charged with that or any other offence. Conversely persons
may be charged with a different offence to that which they were originally
arrested, or receive a different disposal. For example, of the 10 persons
arrested in 2006, 1 was convicted of a drink offence and of the 9
remaining - 1 was cautioned and 6 were given PNDs for other offences.
Therefore, no direct correlation can be made between those arrested and
those prosecuted for a specific offence.
2006 - 1
2007 - 4
2008 - 2
2009 - 2
