Dear Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council,
In the Agenda document for the next Executive Meeting of Stockport
Council:-
http://democracy.stockport.gov.uk/docume...
If it has the go ahead from the Government as is claimed in that
document, why are they still preparing the draft business case? How
can a road be approved if the business case is still in its
infancy?
There is also a reference to transferring £0.992m to the SEMMMS
fund?
Please let me know where that money is coming from and what it will
be spent on.
Many thanks
Sheila

Dear Mrs Oliver,
I am writing in response to your request for information below (Ref 5255).
The response to your request has been prepared by the relevant Council
service and is as follows:
The Government included the SEMMMS A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road as
a scheme within the National Infrastructure Plan November 2011 and the
report refers to this; however the details of the scheme still need
approval via a business case to the Department for Transport and statutory
powers including planning permission.
The £0.992m is a Council non-cash limit budget which is used to cover the
development costs associated with the SEMMMS project which are not covered
by funding from the Greater Manchester Transport Fund. This funding is not
required during 2011/12 and it has been transferred to the earmarked
reserve.
If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request for
information, you are entitled to ask for an internal review; however you
must do so within 40 working days of the date of this response. Any
