I write in connection with your request for information which was
received by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) on 26/01/2012. I note
you seek access to the following information:
"Dear Metropolian Police Service,
* Please can I have the cost for policing London City Airport for the
year 2011 and what percentage of the final bill the airport
themselves paid. Please can I have the estimated cost for policing
London City Airport for the year 2012 and what percentage of the final
bill the airport themselves will pay. "

EXTENT OF SEARCHES TO LOCATE INFORMATION
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were
conducted at SO18 Aviation Security Command.
DECISION
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in
full.
Please find attached information pursuant to your request above.
The Metropolitan Police financial year runs from April to March. The
forecast cost of policing London City Airport this financial year
(11/12) is £4.3m. Negotiations are still continuing with the airport
operator but their contribution to policing cost is expected to be
£2.0m.
The estimated cost of policing London City Airport next financial year
(12/13) is £4.5m. Negotiations are still continuing with the airport
operator but their contribution to policing costs is expected to be
£2.0m.
