Request for information: Social Care Services for Adults and Children.

Thank you for your enquiry. Information on Adult Social care provision
of residential units, day opportunities and sheltered accommodation can
be found here: http://www.westberks.gov.uk/index.aspx?a... I
will query whether these use agency care/support workers.

I believe there is only one Children's residential unit but will check
what information is held. I have assumed that your interest is only in
Children's Social Care provision and not other provision for young
people.

In respect of question 3, we do not have an organogram showing the
Social Care Services within the authority. You will find the
Organisational Structure here:

You have also asked about closures in 2012. Information on proposals for
closures would form part of the Budget papers to Executive in February

respect of Children's Services. You have asked:

Please provide the total number of:

1) qualified social workers currently supplied through recruitment
agencies, analysed by Children's services and by Adult Services.

4 X employed through agencies, 1 x Independent

2) Local Authority owned residential units, day care centres, and
supported living settings, their locations also analysed by Children's
services and Adult Services currently using agency care/support workers?

1 X Castle Gate (Newbury) - short Breaks Service for Disabled Children

3) Advise which of 2 above are expected to be closed in 2012?
Castle Gate is NOT expected to close

3) Provide an organogram showing the Social Services Departments
within the Council
I have attached the up to date Children's Services Teams structure
chart.

I am awaiting information on Adult Social Care.

Currently none in the teams.

2) Local Authority owned residential units, day care centres, and
supported living settings, their locations also analysed by Children's
services and Adult Services currently using agency care/support workers?

In the Council's care homes we have a constant and changing number of
agency workers. The 4 care homes all use agency workers and 1 Resource
centre also does.

3) Advise which of 2 above are expected to be closed in 2012?
None

3) Provide an organogram showing the Social Services Departments
within the Council. Already supplied (on website)
