Dear Nottinghamshire County Council,
I am interested in the amounts paid by each school in
Derby City Council LEA to third parties in relation to temporary
staffing cover. My hope is to receive an electronic breakdown of
amounts paid through the department's purchase ledger by school for
the academic year September 2010 to July 2011. I would like this
information to be broken down by Primary, Secondary, or SEN school
and to detail the amount spent by supplier each month.
Yours faithfully,
Heather Beevers

Dear Ms Beevers
I am writing to you in reply to your Freedom of Information Act request.
You requested: "the amounts paid by each school in Nottinghamshire County
Council LEA to third parties in relation to temporary staffing cover. My
hope is to receive an electronic breakdown of amounts paid through the
department's purchase ledger by school for the academic year September
2010 to July 2011. I would like this information to be broken down by
Primary, Secondary, or SEN school and to detail the amount spent by
supplier each month".
I am sorry to tell you that it is not possible to provide all of the
information you have requested. Payments by schools are not recorded
through the County Council’s purchase ledger system, but through their own
financial management system. However a report on school transactions is
compiled at the end of each financial year for Consistent Financial
Reporting purposes. This report is for the 2010/11 financial year and not
the academic year. I have attached a copy of the report of school
expenditure on supply staff for 2010/11 which shows the yearly spend at
each school. Please note that this is for all supply staff and not just
staff procured through third party agencies.
If you have any queries or concerns then please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision,
you should write to the Team Manager, Complaints and Information Team,
County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7QP or e-mail
[1][email address].
If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint or review, you
may apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
Generally, the Information Commissioner cannot make a decision unless you
have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the Council. The
Information Commissioner can be contacted at:
Information Commissioner's Office
