Thank you for your enquiry. To enable me to advise you further I need
clarification-
o In NI, education and library boards are the employing
authority for one school sector, the controlled sector i.e. responsible
for teaching and non- teaching staff. We also act as the employing
authority for non- teaching staff in the maintained sector. I have been
advised that teaching staff are not recruited using "agencies"
o There are other school sectors that fall under various
management types.
Voluntary schools (including Maintained. Integrated and Irish
Medium) are
managed by their board of governors. Elb's do not hold information
on how they
recruit teaching staff. It would be necessary for you to contact
individual
schools.
o Please advise what you mean by support staff as the board is
the employing authority for non teaching staff in the controlled and the
maintained sectors. This includes classroom assistants, caretakers,
canteen staff, technicians , clerks etc
Contact details for Belfast area schools are published on belb's web
site [1]http://www.belb.co.uk/ - select search - search for a
school.
You can find detailed information on the school system in NI on the
Department of Educations web site refer to statistics and research
