Dear Mr Morris,
Re: Your request for information: 203632
Thank you for your request for information that was received on 1 Feb 2012
in which you requested:
Can the Council list sites and number of units of affordable housing
(including social rented, part-buy/part rent and intermediate range
affordable housing) being built in Southwark in the year 2011-12 as a
result of S106 commitments
In response to your request, I am able to provide the following
information
S106 commitments take two forms namely (a) commuted financial
contributions by developers towards provision of Affordable Housing at
locations other than the development site and (b) planning obligations
based on the Affordable Housing Policy requirements for the provision of
Affordable Housing within the development site.
For the year 2011-12 there were no S106 Affordable Housing Commuted sums
applied by the council for providing Affordable Housing on other sites in
the borough.
For the year 2011-12 there were 108 Social Rented housing units and 57
Shared Ownership Housing units provided by developers under S106 Planning
Agreements.
A breakdown of numbers and locations is provided in the attached table.
