Advice Services

David Briggs made this Freedom of Information request to Stirling Council

The request was partially successful.

From: David Briggs

21 September 2011

Dear Stirling Council,

Given the affects of the current recession both nationally and
locally in Scotland in terms of higher unemployment, increased
private debt problems, increasing fuel poverty, stagnation of
social housing building programmes etc - I would like to know how
the Council is reacting to this in terms of providing Advice to its
citizens on the following issues:

Welfare Rights and Income Maximisation

Money and Debt advice

Homelessness and housing

Employment Rights

In your reply could you please provide a categorised breakdown (as
above) both financially and in human resource terms (number of
staff) the amounts that the council has expended in provision of
these Advice services for the years - 2008/9, 2009/10, 2010/11,
2011/12, and a projection of such for 2012/13.

In terms of the provision of the actual advice, could you please
indicate

the numbers of staff employed in giving this advice as categorised
above,

the level to which that advice is given for each category in line
with the Scottish National Standards i.e. Type 1, 2 or 3.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully,
David Briggs
