The role of the Financial Services Authority (FSA)
The FSA is an independent body set up by government to regulate financial services and protect the rights of customers of the firms we regulate. Our regulation of financial services covers (among others) deposits, investments, mortgages and insurance. We do not advise local councils on where to place their deposits or how safe these deposits are.
Yours sincerely
