the Attorney General in the case of the battle over Britain's

Dear Tim Strevens,

You wrote to me on 23rd February saying, "I am aiming to send a
response to you by Wednesday 25 March 2009 i.e. 20 working days
from the day after we received your request. If possible, I will of
course reply sooner."

I confess I am surprised that of all the government departments the
Attorney General's Office is the one I should least have expected
to be in breach of a law through which the government has attracted
so much credit.
