Please find enclosed an enquiry regarding adults with Autistic
spectrum disorders in Oldham. I would be grateful for your
assistance and any information you can provide in relation to the
questions identified below.
All of my enquiry is in regards to the activities and spending of
Oldham council:
How many service users does Oldham currently have recognised as
having an Autistic spectrum disorder?
How many of these where in regards to Autism?
How many of these where in regards to Aspergers?
How many applications have you had for assessment (including
referrals) with regards to adults with Autistic spectrum disorders?
How many of these where in regards to Autism?
How many of these where in regards to Aspergers?
How many of these referrals/applications resulted in a
comprehensive assessment being completed?
How many of these where in regards to Autism?
How many of these where in regards to Aspergers?
Please identify the types of support requested (e.g. for respite
care)
Please identify the number of requests made per types of support
Please identify the number of requests approved per types of

Please identify the total amount of money spent with regards to

Unfortunately, Oldham Council can not provide you with the information you have requested on this occasion. We do not record the information you have requested on our systems. In order to respond to your request, we would have interrogate each individual file in order to collect the information you require, which will exceed the time limit. You may wish to re-define your request we may be able to provide you with information.
Unfortunately, we can only go back to 2007-08 as the financial system changed and the information prior to that date is not available.

Oldham has appointed an Implementation and Development Worker with the remit of,
ü Developing a Data base ranging from the age of 14 years and over.
ü Figures of people with Aspergers / Autism.
ü What assessments have been completed?
ü Services requested.
ü Individual budgets / costings
Point 4
Some of the services that are requested are,
ü Respite
ü Social groups
ü Befriending / budding
ü Supported living
ü Community projects
ü One to one support
ü Out- reach / day services
ü Vulnerable adults service
Point 5
Money spent for the Adult Autism social group,
Opened December 2007 - carers grant funding - £9,600
The group is still going and has 22 members.
