What is the ratio of adult care cases to each social worker.

What is the average time between referral for a service and
assessment of needs
What is the average time between referral and provision of the
necessary service.

What is your total adult care budget for 2009-2010
What proportion of this is spent providing care in the community
through Direct Payments or Individual Budgets.
What proportion of this is spent on residential care provision.

What is the average length of time for provision of aids.
What is the average length of time for provision of adaptations.

80 Full Time Equivalent Social Workers

2. How many of these are working with disabled people under 60?

9.5 Physical/Sensory Social Workers

6 Learning Disability Social Workers

3. How many adults are you providing some sort of community care
service to in total?

6,385

4. How many allocated cases are there in adult care?

1723

5. How many unallocated cases are there in adult care?

The current pattern of working mainly allocates tasks rather than
*cases* so there is no meaningful way of measuring the number of
*unallocated cases*.

6. How many *held* cases are there in adult care?

The current pattern of working mainly allocates tasks rather than cases so
there is no meaningful way of measuring the number of *held cases*.

7. What is the ratio of adult care cases to each social worker?

The ratio of all adults receiving services to social workers is
currently 80 to 1. The ratio of allocated cases to social workers is
currently 22 to 1.

8. What is the average time between referral for a service and
assessment of needs?

The average time from receipt of referral to COMPLETION of assessment is
23 days (22.8)

9. What is the average time between referral and provision of the
necessary service?

The average time between the end of assessment and the provision of ALL
assessed services (i.e. until the final service is arranged) is 21 days.
Therefore the average time from referral to provision of all services is
44 days?

10. What is your total adult care budget for 2009-2010?

£78,814,610.00

11. What proportion of this is spent providing care in the community
through Direct Payments or Individual Budgets?

£4,547,500.00

12. What proportion of this is spent on residential care provision?

£23,424,650.00

13. What is the average length of time for provision of aids?

The average length of time from assessment to the provision of aids
is 5.6 days. The average time from order to provision is 1.8 days.

14. What is the average length of time for provision of adaptations?

Minor adaptations 3.1 weeks

Major adaptations 25.5 weeks
