springfield hostipal caused alot of damage to me because of thir
lack of training in aspergers symdrome,,and i could not get
appropriate services,,nor benefits/housing etc and advised my gp
not to referr me to pct ...so i had to go private,,pay for it
myself through my benefits(i had to basically starve and )i had

Dear CEO1 (WPCT),
i filed a request,,for adult autism referrals,,and want to find out
why their are no specific adult services in wandsworth and why the
psychariasts do not send people for assessment if needed.apparently
wandsworth primary care does not have any adult autism services and
actually block assessments.

Yours sincerely,

brian murnin

Dear Mr Murnin,

Further to your request dated 15^th March 2010, please find our response
below:

Thank you for your letter concerning the availability of assessments for
Aspergers Syndrome/Autistic Spectrum Disorder in Wandsworth.  We are
sorry to hear that your NHS GP and Psychiatrist did not refer you for a
specialist assessment for this disorder.   Psychiatrists employed within
Wandsworth by the SW London and St Georges NHS Trust are able to refer
their patients for such assessments to the specialist service provided by
the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust.  Normally between 20-30 such
referrals are made per year.  To date the PCT has not refused to fund any
requests for ASD/Aspergers assessments.

As a result of your letter we will be contacting these clinicians to
remind them that they can make use of this facility when appropriate.

In the event that you are dissatisfied with the outcome to your request
for information you have the right to submit a complaint.  Any complaint
received will give rise to a full reconsideration of the handling of the
case as well as the final decision.

Dear Wandsworth Primary Care Trust (PCT),

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of

I am writing to request an internal review of Wandsworth Primary
Care Trust (PCT)'s handling of my FOI request 'Adult Autism
referrals'.

hi i just received a resonse from you

i am really not happy,,,i had to spent my owm money outta benefits
for that assessment(im poor),,,also having undiagnosed autism has
wrecked my family life,,social life,,job ,,university (3 times i
dropped out),,also i drank alcohol to relieve sress//fit in with
normal people

there is also many medical problems i now have after 40 years of
undiagnosed autism,,,,spine problems,,neuro-logical
difficulties,,,visual problems etc etc...i also have had no access
to social care and i also got in trouble with the law(as many with
aspergers do)

i put in a complaint 7 years ago about springfield,,,im doing the
same again...i got a phone call yesterday from springfield asking
for a meeting????that happened 7 years ago(read my file) and
nothing happened

for the last seven years my life is been really difficult and i
want an investigation into the psychariarts involved,,my former
gp,,, and i would like adult autism to be more easliy accessable
and supported in wandsworth

seen my assessment,,i saw one psycharist,,who said he would be in
touch...im setill waiting???????

something has to be done ,,many adults with asd are in mental
institutions/jail,,, and misdiagnosised

please investigate further

thank you brian ]
