Dear Ms Moore,
Could you clarify what you mean by 'forcibly adopted'? Are you referring
to the number of cases where parents have disagreed with the court's
decision that adoption is the appropriate process?
Yours sincerely

Dear Sue Broughton,
Well I guess so, yes. But it the L.A that decides they think that
adoption is the best thing EVER instead of rehabilitation of the
children back to the parent with the most expert professional
support THAT CAN BE GIVEN.
The court just obeys their orders because it is Social Services and
their legal team. That is what I am basically clarifying and the
parent will be overidden at all times. So then it would be indeed
"forced adoption"
Yours sincerely,
Melizza Moore

Dear Ms Moore,
We have now collated the information to respond to your request. You
have asked:
I would like to know how many children have been forcibly adopted
(against parental consent) since 2006.
Answer:
3 children adopted in 2006
2 were contested
1 contested but did not oppose
5 children adopted in 2007
2 contested but did not oppose
3 contested
7 children adopted in 2008
1 relinquished
1 in agreement
2 contest but then accepted the plan for adoption
1 neither contested nor opposed
2 contested
10 children adopted in 2009
3 relinquished
3 agreed
2 neither contested nor opposed
2 contested
1 child so far adopted in 2010
This was contested
For explanation the term 'contested but did not oppose' means that the
parent refused to give consent to adoption but that the matter was not
opposed by the parent in court.
