Dear Ms Moore

I am responding to your recent Freedom of Information request on behalf of
Sheffield City Council, Children and Young People's Service. The response
has been provided by the Adoption and Fostering Service of the local
authority.

We do not recognise the term, " forced adoption". All plans where adoption
is one of the alternative family options for a child are considered by the
court and it is a judge who makes the decision as to whether a child
should be placed elsewhere other than with their birth parents. There were
no children adopted without parental consent in Sheffield for the period
mentioned.

Please contact me again if you have any further enquiries about this
response.
Thank you

Dear Nelson Susan,

Perhaps I better clarify my request a little to aid you. Ok, fine
fine, when a child is in the care of the local authority, there is
joint parental responsibility between the parent and the L.A. YES?
Therefore the L.A are supposed to consult on EVERY decision of that
child's life. YES?. But the L.A have the upper hand of those
decisions. So therefore my questions now are these

1. How many times has the parents rights been dispensed with via a
court
2. How many freeing orders have there been since 2006?
3. How many placement orders and subsequent adoption orders been
made since 2006?
4. Was parental consent given in WRITING? If not then this is
FORCED ADOPTION

Yours sincerely,

Melizza Moore

Dear Nelson Susan,

Well it is now August 24th now. Please release ALL of the adoption
numbers please, as I know that not if any, many parents have
managed to win against a local authority, even with the best legal
representation in the land. And by law this foi responce is
exceedingly OVERDUE.

Yours sincerely,

Melizza Moore

Dear Ms Moore

I am responding to your Freedom of Information request on behalf of
Sheffield City Council, Children and Young People's Service. The response
has been provided by the Adoption Service of the local authority

1 How many times has the parents rights been dispensed with via a court?
Legal Services have commented that this question doesn't make legal sense
and therefore they are unable to provide a response

2 How many freeing orders have there been since 2006? Please find
attached the numbers of Freeings and placement orders. Please note that
the Adoption and Children Act 2002 was implemented on 20 December 2005 and
after that date freeings were abolished to be replaced

by Placement orders.

3 How many placement orders and subsequent adoption orders been made since
2006? Please find attached the information as requested

4 Was parental consent given in WRITING? If not then this is FORCED
ADOPTION We have consulted the Team in relation to children placed with
parental consent and we believe this to be 5 children during this period.

Please contact me if you have any further enquiries about this response.

Thank you

WOW, They were EXTREMELY helpful. Even totalled it up for me. Very very good response, once the request had been restructured.
