Dear University of Stirling,
I would like a copy of your Undergraduate Admissions Policy, along
with minutes from any meetings over the last three years where
changes to this policy have been discussed.
I would like a copy of the standard letter you send making an offer
(conditional and unconditional) to a prospective student; and a
copy of the standard letter you send rejecting an applicant.
I would like you to confirm the average time taken to respond to
Undergraduate applicants last year, with details of whether this
varies depending on the type of offer made; or whether there is
variation across the different academic areas of the the
University.
Yours faithfully,
F.L. Hunter

Dear F.L. Hunter
I refer to your Freedom of Information request regarding our Admissions Policy. Please find the information you requested below.
1)I would like a copy of your Undergraduate Admissions Policy, along with minutes from any meetings over the last three years where changes to this policy have been discussed.
The Admissions Policy is detailed in our Undergraduate Prospectus, a copy of which is attached for your reference. There are no minutes from meetings over the last three years where changes to the policy have been discussed.
2)I would like a copy of the standard letter you send making an offer (conditional and unconditional) to a prospective student; and a copy of the standard letter you send rejecting an applicant.
We do not send decision letters out for UG admissions as decisions are made on-line to UCAS and it is they who then inform the student of the offer. If a reject is sent, a reason for rejection is also transmitted to UCAS.
3) I would like you to confirm the average time taken to respond to Undergraduate applicants last year, with details of whether this varies depending on the type of offer made; or whether there is variation across the different academic areas of the the
University.
We have not averaged the time last year, because it does vary so much depending on what course applied for and when we received the application from UCAS and nothing can be gauged by doing a straight average.
Our turn around varies time between 4 days – 5 months depending on the course applied for (eg need to operate ‘gathered field’ as it is a heavily oversubscribed course), completeness of information on application form, need for interview, need for clarification of non-academic conditions, and the date on which we receive the application form from UCAS.
