Dear Fife Council,

I recently did a freedom of information act request on how much
Fife council spend on public relations, I got most of my
information but was told to put in a new request about one of my
questions as it wasn't in the original request.

The information I got told me that money is spent on advertising
recruitment and my question is this.....

The sheet states that Fife Council have spent millions on
advertising for staff recruitment's? Is this correct as I thought
Councils were cutting back on staff. And how many people actually
started work through the advertisement scheme?

Basically how much was spent on the scheme for recruitment over 5
years, and how many people got jobs out of it. Also how many people
were payed off in the same period?

Yours faithfully,

brian ovens

I refer to your email dated 8 June 2010 and received on 9 June 2010; our ref: FOI061

Please find below the information you requested and trust that it meets your requirements:

"With regard to recruitment advertising spend, the 2009/10 figures are currently being audited and are therefore unavailable. From initial calculations however, it appears that spend has reduced by about 64% throughout 2009/10. Fife Council placed restrictions on recruitment in April 2010 and therefore it is expected that spend on recruitment advertising will continue to decrease.

Unfortunately the Council does not have data in relation to the numbers of employees recruited through external media for the period."

Dear Diane Wilson,

I think you have misread my question, I was looking for figures
from the last 5 years not just 2009/10.

Can you clear this up?
