Dear Mr Nash
Your request for information on empty commercial property.
We have now considered your request for information and unfortunately it
is exempt under section 31(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act and
will not be released.
Section 31(1)(a) of the Act allows us to withhold information if
disclosure of the information would be likely to prejudice the prevention
and detection of crime.
This exemption applies because once the information has been released, we
have no control over who the information will be passed to and the
information could be used to commit a crime by targeting empty properties.
It is considered that the public interest in withholding the information
is stronger than the public interest in disclosing it. This is because it
is not in the public interest to make available information that could
cause theft or vandalism.
If you have any queries about this email, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision,
