Thank you for your email of 17th April 2009 where you requested information about businesses empty commercial properties within Leicester City Council area.
From our preliminary assessment, it is clear that we will not be able to answer your request without further clarification.
The Revenues & Benefits service requires further information in order to identify and locate the information you have asked for. Please can you confirm what time period you would like us to use to define a 'long term empty' commercial property. Leicester City Council considers properties to be 'long term empty' if they have been vacant for over 6 months.
Once you have clarified your request, I will be able to begin to process your request. If I do not receive clarification within three months your request will be considered to have lapsed. (Under section 1(3) of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), a public authority need not comply with a request unless any further information reasonably required to locate the information is supplied).

I confirm that your request for information was received on 22/04/09. Your request is being considered and you will receive the information requested within the statutory timescale of 20 working days from the first working day following the date of receipt, which is 21/05/09, as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
