*Additional* Enforcement Costs for Motorcycle Parking Charging
Martin J made this Freedom of Information request to Westminster City Council
Westminster City Council did not have the information requested.
From: Martin J
7 October 2009
Dear Sir or Madam,
When the Motorcycle Parking Charging scheme was being introduced,
an existing Westminster document (sorry, I do not have the
reference) indicated the projected effect on enforcement costs
relating to the scheme, and advised that TWO additional CEOs (cost
£80K/year) would be needed for the OFF-STREET parking enforcement
(i.e. Car Parks), whilst for ON-STREET enforcement and also Back
Office costs, there would be NO additional enforcement costs, as
the enforcement would be covered by existing resources.
Bearing in mind that Charging for Motorcycles in Car Parks was
stopped on 1st June 2009, I would also therefore assume that *if*
two additional CEOs were actually taken on for off-street
enforcement, that they would no longer be required after 31st May
2009.
Could you therefore please advise the *ADDITIONAL* enforcement
expenditure incurred by the Council (NCP/NSL) for 2008/2009 and for
2009/2010 (so far, with a projection of the final total)
specifically for the Motorcycle Parking Charging scheme, *COMPARED*
to what the costs would have been had this scheme NOT been
introduced, detailing the nature of those ADDITIONAL costs.
Please Note: I am very specifically asking for the **ADDITIONAL**
enforcement costs specifically for the Motorcycle Parking Charging
scheme.
Do you (NCP/NSL) have any CEOs or enforcement staff whose
enforcement duties relates SOLELY to the Motorcycle Parking
Charging scheme, and if so, how many, and in what capacities?
Many thanks.
Yours faithfully,
Martin Johnson
