Dear M Sykes,

For the financial year 2008/9 the average cost for completing a
case was £9,118. This includes costs for internal presenting
officers and legal advice.

As the case of Mr Adam Walker was heard over six hearing days this
average cost will have increased, in common with all other cases
which require more hearing days. Until the end of the last
financial year the case of Mr Walker had cost approximately
£50,000. Based on the cost incurred to date, and our estimates of
the legal fees and presenting costs still to be invoiced, the
figure associated with this case is likely is be around £60,000.

There is currently no more accurate figure available for me to
disclose to you.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen Goldsby Data Protection Officer Direct line: 0121 345 0137
