Dear Dumfries and Galloway Council,

In accordance with FOISA I would like to ask you to provide me
with:

1) The exact name and type of legal entity in UK law referred to by
the title of 'Dumfries and Galloway Council'. (N.B. a 'local
authority' is not a recognised legal entity in UK law.)

2) A full copy of the constitution, memoranda and articles of
association, certificate of incorporation, trust deeds or whatever
form of definition defines the type of legal entity requested in
1).

3) The address of the registered office, or contact address for the
above legal entity requested in 1) if not the same as: Council
Offices, English Street, Dumfries, DG1 2DD.

4) All company registration numbers, or other official reference
codes used to identify the legal entity requested in 1).

5) the name and address of the registrar responsible for licensing
the above legal entity requested in 1).

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Thank you for your request for information, which was received 3
December 2011 and is being dealt with in terms of the above Act. Your
request has been given the unique Reference 11528 and should be quoted
on all correspondence.

Under the Terms of the Act, we have a statutory obligation to respond to
your request within 20 working days from the day after your request was
received. A response to your request for information will be sent to you
promptly; and in any event not later than 6 January 2012.

You should be aware that there might be a fee charged for the retrieval,
collation and provision of the information you have requested. You will
be advised by means of a 'fees notice' and no information will be
provided without the fees being duly paid to the Council.

Where your request for information has been examined in detail and
deemed as a "business as usual" request, it will be responded to by the
appropriate Service within the Council.

If you have any queries in the meantime, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
