Accounts for Colwyn Bay Prom Day

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to see the profit and loss accounts for Colwyn Bay
Promenade Day for the past 10 years.

The accounts should be complete, showing a breakdown of all the
sources of income including stall rents, fairground ride rents,
catering concessions, commercial and local/national authority
sponsorship and grants and any other sources of income.

The expenses should be similarly broken down into suitable
categories that are easy for a member of the public to understand.

Finally the profit (or loss) for each year should be stated, along
with details of what the profit was spent on, or how the loss was
funded (whichever is the case each year)

If there is a fund of money held-over from one year to fund the
next years event, the amount of this fund should also be stated.

Dear Colwyn Resident

Thank you for your e-mail requesting information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. We will now proceed with the request and it is our

Dear Info Regs Unit,

Thank you for supplying the information requested.

Is it possible to break down the category "Expenditure:
Entertainment" further? - it is a significant 'chunk' of the annual
expense, and I cannot think off the top of my head what
entertainment is provided other than the fairground, which pays
rent into the event.

Please let me know if you will treat this as a clarification of my
original request, or if I need to make a fresh FOI request.

Dear Info Regs Unit,

Thank you for the breakdown. I note that for every year of
entertainment expense there is an entry for a "Gwyn Davies" for a
substantial amount of money. I have searched the internet, but have
been unable to find an entertainer of this name in the local area.

Please explain what entertainment this person provides which costs
so much money each and every year.

Dear Colwyn Resident

I have been informed that Gwyn Davies (also known as Chirpy the Clown
from Prestatyn) is the Prom Day Compere on the music stage who also
organises other acts to perform. Performers he has brought along include
the John Garland Puppet Show and Bubble the clown as well as many more.

His fee has varied throughout the years due to the number of acts hired
and the cost of those acts
