How many accidents at work have employees, or agency workers (in
the employ of the Council) had in the last 5 years ?, by department
if possible please.
And how many near miss accidents were recorded in those same 5
years ?, again by department if possible please.

Your application for information that was received by the Council on
14th January 2009 has now been considered and this email is a full
response to that application.
Your request was to be supplied with the following:
How many accidents at work have employees, or agency workers (in
the employ of the Council) had in the last 5 years ?, by department
if possible please.
And how many near miss accidents were recorded in those same 5
years ?, again by department if possible please.
The Council does hold the information that you have requested and a
document which is relevant to your application is enclosed with this
email. The information that the Council holds is for 2006/2007 and 2008
For previous years (2003/4 and 2004/5), this information is held as
total figures and not by department - please see below:
2003/4 Accidents reported: 1019
Near Misses: 10
2004/5 Accidents reported: 872
Near Misses: 6
Please note that the information supplied to you continues to be
protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. You can use
the information supplied for your own purposes, including any
