Dear consultancy,

Please could you provide us with a name to correspond with? As required
under the FOI Act (2000) a request for information is only valid if, as
well as being made in writing and describing the information requested,
it also 'states the name of the applicant and an address for
correspondence,' Part 1 (section 8b).

We are of course able to use your email address but we do need an
applicant name before we can log and process.

Kind regards,

Nadine

Dear Thurrock Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of
Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Thurrock Borough
Council's handling of my FOI request 'Accessibility Strategy
Thurrock'.

While I have received a response requesting further information
that has been provided - I have not had a response to the
substantive request which should have been received by 24th
January.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is
available on the Internet at this address:

FAO: Ms E Jarrett,

Thank you for your email. We are not able to initiate an internal review
at this stage. As previously advised, we were not able to log your
request under the legislation until we had a name with whom to
correspond - as required by the legislation. Your name was not received
until 30th December - as per your email to me, copy enclosed.

Your request should have been acknowledged sooner and I apologise for
this.
However, the 20 working day timeframe did not (and could not) commence
until 30th December 2011 - the point at which we had the necessary
information to validate your request. Your request is logged and
underway and we are working to the deadline of 30th January in line with
legislation. You will receive a response once this is ready and we aim
to complete this of course, within the timeframe.

Please add this to your online history.

Following the completion of your request, you will of course have the
option to make a complaint to the Council if you are dissatisfied with
the response. Details of the process for this are supplied in our reply
letters as per standard practice.

Kind regards,

Nadine Cook
Senior Information Management Officer
