23 January 2012

Dear Sir/Madam

Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Information Request

I refer to your request for information dated 21 December 2011. In
accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I
have now processed your request in which you asked for Norfolk County
Council to supply our Accessibility Strategy pursuant to the Equality

Act 2010.

Your request: The Equality Act 2010 (Section 88 Schedule 10) requires all
Local Authorities responsible for schools to create, amend and keep up to
date an Accessibility Strategy.

Please supply your Accessibility Strategy pursuant to the Equality Act
2010 in an accessible electronic form.

Our response:

Currently, Norfolk County Council does not have an up to date and
published Accessibility Strategy as described within the request.

The previous strategy, within the previous legislative framework, became
out of date in 2009.

Therefore, the Local Authority takes this Freedom of Information
request as a prompt for Norfolk County Council to ensure that it
is compliant with this duty.  This will be done by progressing the
development of the strategy via the Local Authority's multi-agency /
stakeholder Additional Needs and Disability Partnership; the outline
timeframe for being able to publish this is 6 months.

Should you have any queries regarding the information provided then please
