Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Mr Ball
For a property to be eligible it must be occupied by a person that meets
the criteria for granting relief (i.e. they only occupy that property and
the rateable value is below £15,000 or that property and others where the
rateable value of the others is below £2,200 and total rateable value of
all properties is below £15,000). We check these criteria when we receive
an application. In order to answer your request we would have to check all
possible cases using these criteria, which we estimate would take more
than 18 hours. The Freedom of Information Act does not require us to
provide information if to do so would exceed that limit.
If you are able to reduce the scope of your request we will consider
whether it is possible to answer it within the limits prescribed by the
Act.
Yours sincerely
