result of emails, texts and phone calls to this hotline service

I write with regard to your request for information sent by email to St
Albans City & District Council. Your email was received by the Council on
3rd August 2009.
Under Section 10(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, we are
required to respond no later than 20 working days after the date we
receive your request. This means that you should have a response by 31st
August 2009.
However, if we feel that we require further information to fulfill your
request we will write to inform you within the twenty day period [section
1(3)].
If the Council considers that we require further time to respond then we
will write to you informing you of the estimated date of response [section
10 (3)].
If we consider that complying with the request will exceed the cost limit
then we will write to tell you within 20 working days.
I will now pass this request to the relevant department, and they will be
in contact with you in due course.

I write with regard to the request for information in email received 3^rd
August 2009.
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, we are required to confirm what
information we hold, and if we do hold the information, disclose the
information, subject to exemptions or other provisions applying.
You requested information relating to the following questions:
1. The cost of running the 'A Cleaner District' project
2. The estimated amount of litter which is collected as a direct
result of emails, texts and phone calls to this hotline service.
3. The number of emails, texts and phone calls that have been
received since the start of the project.
Our response to your questions:
1. There is not a specific budget for the `Cleaner District'
campaign, any work carried out is done so within existing budgets.
2. No records are kept of work specifically generated by `Cleaner
District' calls.
3. We take approximately 55 calls a month on the 'cleaner district'
hotline number and about 100 emails and texts a month
If you are dissatisfied with my decision the Commissioner's Office
recommends that you first complain to the Council. The details of how to
complain can be found on the Council's website. You are able to make a
complaint about my decision with regard to your request for information to
the Council as a Stage 2 complaint. You are also able to complaint
directly to the Information Commissioner's Office at Wycliffe House, Water
Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. You must do this no later than two
months after the Local Authority's last response to you.
