FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST
I am writing in respect of your request under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 for the following information:-
With regard to illegal or unregistered A-Frame advertising boards placed
along the Kings Heath High Street and environs, please provide the
following:
1) How many complaints against the above have been registered with
Birmingham City Council in the last five years.
2) How many reports of injuries relating to the above have been
registered with Birmingham City Council in the last five years.
In the last 5 financial years a total of 27 requests for assistance were
received in relation to 'fly-posting' matters from within the Kings Heath
ward. These matters included primarily fly-posting [illegal advertisement
display] i.e. adverts for events and records etc. pasted to walls and some
instances of placards affixed to street furniture. Of these 27 there was
one complaint which related specifically to an 'A' board located on
Billesley Lane and this dates back to March 2005.
No recorded reports of injuries relating to the above have been registered
with Birmingham City Council.
If you are unhappy with the handling or the outcome of this request, you
are entitled to make a request for an internal review / appeal, such view
to be undertaken by Council officers not involved in the handling of your
request.
