A43 Camera

Rob Clark made this Freedom of Information request to Northamptonshire Police

The request was successful.

From: Rob Clark

7 September 2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would be obliged if you could provide me with details of the
purpose of a camera situated on the A43.

It's location is at the small roundabout, with exits to Sywell and
Holcott, on the A43 between Northampton and Kettering. It is white
in colour and fixed to a tall street lamp, on the Northampton side
of the traffic island.

I would like to know what the purpose of the camera is, what
agency/company operates it and to what purpose the collected
photographic data is used.

Yours faithfully,

Rob Clark

RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

With reference to your email dated 08/09/2009 requesting information as
reproduced below;

I would be obliged if you could provide me with details of the purpose of
a camera situated on the A43.

It's location is at the small roundabout, with exits to Sywell and
Holcott, on the A43 between Northampton and Kettering. It is white in
colour and fixed to a tall street lamp, on the Northampton side of the
traffic island.

I would like to know what the purpose of the camera is, what
agency/company operates it and to what purpose the collected photographic
data is used.

The camera is operated by Northamptonshire Police and is used for traffic
monitoring. It does not take photographic images.

Northamptonshire Police provides a review and appeals procedure within the
terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. If you decide to make an
appeal and, having followed the full process you are still dissatisfied,
you will then have the right to direct your comments to the Information
Commissioner who will give due consideration to the matter. See Appendix
'a' attached.

I trust you find this information to be satisfactory but if you have any
further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely
