Dear Northamptonshire County Council,
I am writing to request information regarding the SPECS speed
cameras on the A428 Bedford road.
More specifically i would like to know:
How many deaths and how many car accidents have occurred in the
years 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010?
How much money these cameras have collected in fines in the years
2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010?
How much money the cameras originally cost to put into operation?
And how much money the cameras cost to maintain in the years 2006,
2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010?

Thank you for your request for information below.
I can confirm information in relation to accident statistics are published on our website and can be found using the link below. The publication shows the number of collisions together with statistics showing the number of people killed or seriously injured.

Northamptonshire County Council and Northamptonshire Police worked together as part of the Casualty Reduction Programme and would share information for the purposes of the programme itself.
However, Northamptonshire County Council does not hold information in relation to the collection of fines for the SPECS cameras nor do we hold information in relation to the operation and maintenance costs. You should direct the remainder of your request to Northamptonshire Police.
