Dear Mr Merridew

thank you for your recent request for information about the use of
regulation A19 by West Yorkshire Police and the level of cash reserves in
2011 and 2012.

I can provide the following information:

1. West Yorkshire Police have not found it necessary to invoke the A19
regulation to date.
2. The cash reserves at 1.4.2011 were £30,372,000
3. The cash reserves predicted for 1.4.2012 are £32,197,000
4. There are presently no plans to implement regulation A19 in 2011-12
