FOI 00161 - ELECTIVE HOME EDUCATION ABUSE STATISTICS
Following my letter of 30 JuIy 2009 I now write with the information you have requested. Your request does not refer to any specific time scale and therefore my response covers the period 1 April 2004 to 31 March 2009. In that period :
A The number of persons in the local authority of compulsory
school age who are, or claimed to be, electively home educated and
who have been either suspected or found to be involved in child
abuse, neglect, forced marriage, sexual exploitation or domestic
servitude : 1
B How many (if any) Serious Case Reviews or Joint Area Reviews
have reported with respect to home educated children in the LA: 0
If you are not satisfied with my response to your request for information, you may ask the Council for an internal review of this decision. You should write to Tim Date, Solicitor of the Council and Head of Corporate Governance at Warrington Borough Council, Quattro, Buttermarket Street, Warrington, WA1 1BN, giving details of your complaint. You should do this as soon as possible, or, in any case, within two months of your request being refused.
If, following the outcome of the internal review, you remain dissatisfied with the Council's response to your information request; you have the right under section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to appeal to the Information Commissioner at:
