Question

I would like to know the number of persons in the local authority of compulsory school age who are, or claimed to be, electively home educated and who have been either suspected or found to be involved in child abuse, neglect, forced marriage, sexual exploitation or domestic servitude.

Answer

There are no electively home educated persons of compulsory school age who have been found to be involved in child abuse, neglect, forced marriage, sexual exploitation or domestic servitude. For your information, there are currently 36 children of statutory school age in home education.

Question

How many (if any) Serious Case Reviews or Joint Area Reviews have reported with respect to home educated children in the LA?

Answer

There are no Serious Case Reviews around this subject. Slough's Joint Area Review did not report on home educated children. If you would like to access information on the Joint Area Review in Slough please visit:
