Thank you for your request for the following information:
1) The number of persons in the local authority of compulsory
school age who are, or claimed to be, Electively Home Educated and
who have been either suspected or found to be involved in child
abuse, child neglect, forced marriage, sexual exploitation or
domestic servitude.
2) How many (if any) Serious Case Reviews or Joint Area Reviews
have reported with respect to Home Educated children in the LA.
The information below has been supplied in response to your request for the
above mentioned information. We hope the information supplied satisfies your original request.
Thurrock Children's social care are not actively involved with any of the children who are Electively Home Educated.
None of the Serious Case Reviews in Thurrock have related to Home Educated young people
If you are unhappy with the Council's response you can make a complaint via the
Council's complaints procedures and this will be looked into. If you are not happy with
this decision you may then appeal to the Information Commissioner.
