Trend over the last 5 years
Direct Payments:
Service users taking direct payments has seen a steady increase in numbers rising from 222 (3.6%) in 1/4/2006 – 31/3/2007 to 857 (14.2%) in
1/4/2011 to 30/11/2011.
Personal Budgets:
The take-up of services via personal budget was very low between 1/4/2006 to 31/3/2009 – 0.2% to 2.4% of the community based population. A
sharp rise was seen 09/10 where the proportion rose from 2.4% (153 service users) in 08/09 went up to 11% (720 service users). Over the last
two years this has had a steady increase to 21.8% at the end of November 2011.
