28 July 2008
Dear Ms Barrett-White
Your request was received on 1 July 2008 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
You asked:
Please could you supply me, in electronic form, the height (or estimate thereof) of every building
owned by any college associated with the University, and any other building connected in some
way to the University. If possible, could you also supply the map grid coordinates of each of
these buildings, its name and to which college it belongs.
The University's response is as follows:
We do not hold the information requested. The 31 Cambridge Colleges are separate legal
entities and separate public authorities for the purposes of the FOIA and the University does
not hold information about buildings owned by the colleges or other buildings connected in
some way to the University. Contact details for the Colleges can be found on the University's
website at
http://www.cam.ac.uk/colleges/addresses.html
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to
make a complaint or request a review of this decision, you should write to the Administrative
Secretary, quoting the reference above, at the Secretariat, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2
1TN. If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply directly to the
Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the Information Commissioner cannot
make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the
University. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information
Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Yours sincerely,
I. D Troupe
