Response re complaints handling: 
 
The Ombudsman identified that the complaints process was confusing and 
through the introduction of regulations in September 2006 and further 
regulations recently introduced on 1 April 2009 assists local authorities in 
providing a more person-centred approach to complaints handling for adult 
social care.  This is also being reinforced through staff training.
