CCTV Update

Cowley Road - Consultant's report on Cowley Road CCTV now completed. Recommended 4 sites along Cowley Road. Members have been made aware of a camera at the Plain and agreed for only three cameras to be installed. These will be at the East Oxford Community Centre, Manzil Gardens and near to the Regal.

RA to have a meeting with Councillors next week. They have concerns around wireless technology.

Funding issues resolved. £25k contributed by TVP and £20k from OSCP. Will be requesting contributions from Brookes and Carling Academy. Once all agreed, will take three months to install.

CCTV on the Cowley Road

Funding has been identified from OSCP for the installation of three CCTV cameras on Cowley Road. The total cost of the scheme will be approximately £50k.

The tender specification meeting is set for the 18^th September. The timetable for the installation is less clear as there are a number of hurdles to overcome including lead-in times for electricity installations on lampposts, stability issues due to the age of the lampposts and columns that currently have decorative lights on and the relay of images from the cameras to the police station. All of these matters are in hand and it is hoped that the installation can be completed by the end of the year.
