Dear Mr Clark,
Re: Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 – Request for Information
Thank you for your email which was received by the University on 22 March 2009 timed 11:41
hours, requesting the following:
1. Have the University's Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor responsible for financial
matters, Secretary of Court, or any of the University's governing bodies ever called for
an investigation/review regarding the cost of the Finance System’s implementation? If
so, could you please provide me with the relevant details/reports?
2. The University can neither provide the costs nor the quantifiable benefits of this
implementation, can you provide me with the justification for such a huge expenditure
from the public purse?
3. Could you provide me with the date of appointment of the University's Finance
Director and the salary increase (in percentage terms) that this director has received
since his appointment to date?
4. Is the University going to take any action against the Finance Director or the person
responsible for this implementation who appears to have failed to keep details of the
total expenditure of the implementation of the University's Finance System?
5. Are the University's managers with financial control required to keep a record of all
expenditure? If they are, is the Finance Director therefore exempt from this policy if it
exists?
