ADMINISTRATION INSTRUCTION - COMMON PURPOSE 2006

GENERAL

1. Common Purpose is a high profile event involving leaders from a number of organisations from the Teesside area who participate in a 12 month programme, where they discuss key issues about the local community. Brambles Farm TAC will be the host for a Common Purpose Leadership day on Wed 22 Nov 06. Background information about the organisation is at Enclosure 1.

3. On Arrival. The names of all participants and speakers will be given to the MGS by the RSM on Tue 21 Nov 06, in order that car passes can be issued on arrival. The MGS is then too direct the participants to the far side of the car park in front of RHQ. All car passes are to be handed in to the guardroom on departure.

DRESS

4. Dress for all Regt'l personnel involved will be CS 95.

6. Refreshments. For the 3 refreshment breaks, the RCWO is requested to provide the following:

a. Tea, Coffee and biscuits.

b. Orange Juice.

c. Fresh drinking water.

d. Fruit.

7. Special Dietary Requirements. At breakfast, the RCWO is requested to provide a vegetarian option for 20 x persons. (Para 5 ser 1 refers).

EQUIPMENT

8. The RQMS is requested to provide the following equipment by 1400 hrs, on Tue 21 Nov 06:

a. 14 x Dining Tables (7 x tables for JRC and 7 for the hall).

b. 42 x Dining Chairs.

c. 1 x Tea Urn.

d. 1 x Flip Chart.

e. 1 x Easel and Whiteboard (c/w pens/eraser).

FUNDING

9. OC/PSAO HQ Sqn is requested to pay for the purchase of rations etc from the admin account. This will be claimed back from the N of E RFCA (SaBRE) once the RCWO has raised a final bill.

MANPOWER

10. OC/PSAO HQ Sqn is requested to provide 2 x fatigue men to assist with the setting up of the drill hall on Tue 21 Nov 06 and to act as admin staff to assist with the smooth running of events on the actual day. Names of the nominated personnel are to be submitted to the RSM by NLT COP Tue 14 Nov 06.

MEDICAL

11. Any medical emergencies will be referred to James Cook University Hospital and will be coordinated by the RSM.

SECURITY

12. Brambles Farm duty SPSI is to initiate OP WIDEAWAKE at 0900 hrs on Wed 22 Nov 06. Any irregularities are to be reported to the RSM immediately.

SUMMARY

13. In order for the leadership day to run smoothly and for all Common Purpose participants to leave with a positive impression of 34 (N) Sig Regt, it is incumbent on all Brambles Farm personnel involved on the day, to act in a professional and polite manner at all times. This is vital in the continuing effort to maintaining and fostering good working relations between the Regiment and leaders of the local community.
